I am anxious to read the political viewpoints to this as there are larger questions in the greater scheme that are similar.

No freebees or entitlements for americans. Give it to Iraqis instead. Its for a good cause and you would indirectly be helping your country since helping iraqis helps stop them from swimming the ocean and attacking us here at home. Helping americans here at home will only encourage them to be lazy.

Heh I think I get it, or maybe I'm reading too much into it (your little subtext makes it hard not to).

Sounds like your subtly comparing tax collections to charity donations. This $300 is the Bush tax rebate and the answer you're looking for is "Keep it for yourself" i.e. you want to assume tax revenue = funding for charity causes and therefor a tax cut equals not funding public charity.

Well, here's the thing. The $300 is yours and you can do whatever you want with it. Pick whatever charity you think does the most good or spend it on yourself or your family. I promise you no one who gets to choose a charity to give money to chooses the government.

Whoever you give to, make sure it goes to a charity that will use your money wisely. If you decide to support a charity working in Iraq, I assume you would wish as much of the money as possible to benefit Iraqis in need of help, rather than lining an official's pockets.

Donate it here to America. I think America would apreciate it more. We keep helping Iraq but apparently they don't want to change in my opinion about a lot of things in general. I feel since you live in the U.S.A. help the problems that are all around you to make them better to help benefit yourself instead of helping it in a different area. I mean the organizations that need money and it may seem like I am calling them problems but I am not. I mean that the problems the organizations have.

Its your money, do whatever you think it is best spent at. Spend it in Iraq and you get the most bang for your buck. Spend it in America and you will help your fellow American. However, the Iraq people you help could die soon, and chances are, the American will want more and call you selfish.

Either way, the choice is yours and yours alone

Iraqis

you donation here is all too likely to end up supplying food to illegals so they can send a larger portion of their income home to Mexico.

Well, why not give $150.00 to Americans in need and the other $150.00 to Iraqis in need? Makes sense to me if you are undecided and have to resort to asking someone else what to do with your money.

Either way, it's a tax write off!!

Donate to where you think it will do the most good, that's what really matters.

It's your money, so it's up to you. What more important to you - helping people who are more like you, or helping whoever has the greater need?
