Will Pedro Martinez be effective when he re-joins the New York Mets?

I think that his first start back will be rough. He hasn't had very solid rehab starts, and it will only get worse in the MLB. I'd consider picking up after his first start, or until he has a good showing. The Mets really need him to get on the mound and pitch well for them to get to the playoffs.

He has to be or the Mets may be home for the playoffs. It is no longer a luxury for the club to have him on the mound to get in shape for the playoffs.
