I think it depends on the amount of participation from the viewer/reader. The less active participation, the lower the critical thinking skills.
I may be wrong, but I think the abundance of news sources from ours and other countries is a luxury. However, it all still boils down to the tale of the three blind men and the elephant: you've got to realize that every story has an angle, regardless of the medium.
To some, that barrage of information can lead to overload, and they may simply rely on a narrow channel of information that they "trust." I don't think it reflects poorly on their intellects so much as their level of naivety. But I do think it affects critical thinking.

You enhance an exciting factor. the element is, the media would not "record information" anymore, they simply supply "modern entertainment". the concentration is in simple terms approximately completely on unfavourable issues, alongside with crimes, scandals and wars. while you're fortunate adequate to return throughout the time of a small city's close by newspaper, you may see some truthfully honest-to-God information reporting that may no longer constrained to trials and scandals and intense definition photos of the main recent college capturing, yet in simple terms comments from happenings around the section. good stuff and not so good stuff.

It has educated and kept masses of people up to date with the news and entertainment industry. Most of the news channel are leaning so far to the left, that they will fall off the cliff if they don't stop going on liberal story agendas and ideologue stories.
