If the right person runs, the right person will get elected. And when I say 'right' I am not referring to their political ideals, I am referring to how their message resonates with the people.

Now I am not a big fan of Hillary, nor does Obama resonate with me. I am more conservative in my thinking, but I think both of these candidates have a good shot at winning this election. Although I am more skeptical about Obama.

And as much as I would hate to see that happen, part of me would almost like one of them to win just because of the historic perspective. Hillary would be really interesting not only because she is the first woman, but because she would also be the first former first lady.

But I agree with several of my conservative compatriots who have answered, Lets draft Condi. She is not only sharp, the rest of the world loves her. Plus she is black and a woman. And I think she would have a good shot at it. She could do a lot for the country.

Barring her, maybe we could get Colin Powell, I wanted him to run eight years ago. He certainly would have been better than who we have now, and I voted for GWB.

Regardless, we may not have a woman or someone of color in the Whitehouse this election, but I believe it is coming. For most people of the country race, and gender mean little compared with what they have demonstrated their views to be.

People look for character not color.

Obama said it best when asked, if he does not win the election does this mean the country is not ready for a black president. He stated at the time that his color would not be the reason he lost, but it would be because his message failed to resonate with the American People. I applaud him for this statement, and wish him the best of luck.

It is my continued hope that he will keep this attitude, with that one statement he raised black people all over the country from victim status to equals.

They say, that a black man could become president, but when push comes to shove, the majority will not vote for a black man. A woman has a better chance, before a black man,

But the fact still remains,

a woman or man will be elected for president,

just so long as they are white.

The majority in this country believes,

the office of president is for whites only.

Sure. Or a "black" woman, or a Japanese-American or a totally mixed-ancestry person like Tiger Woods.

It can happen... why not?? I think its a stupid reason not to vote for someone just based on their gender or race... You should always vote on the issues... With said I'm not voting for Hil or Obama based on where they stand on the issues, which seems to vary week to week... My picks are Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich

Yes it can and very shortly. I am not a supporter of Hillary or Obama so right now I hope it does not happen in 2008 but the country is ready for a non-white male. I just hope it is in 2012 or 2016.

If I agree with their politics, yes I would. However,I don't agree with Obama or Hillary. The left will pull every card out to try and get their way. I just ignore them.
