I was born in the Philippines but grew up here in States but we still frequently visit. Right now, the most popular destinations are our beaches in Palawan and Bohol...and of course, Boracay too.....please check it out.

For your fares, it would depend from where you're coming and the time of your trip.

In Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija.
You could stay at Village Inn resort.
Everything is cheap here, the food oh yes. You can buy 1 kilo of pork for 1.5 $ and veggies are under 1$ and your kitchen is full.Fish costs 2 $(Milk Fish) per Kilo.Everything is metric here. I recommend that you rent a whole house too. A whole house cost 111$ a month. So that you could stretch you money longer.
Electricity is 55$ a month, drinking water= 11 $ a month. Some would ask one month deposit and one month advance for the house rent. A used car would cost 2,666 $ and that's all you need to buy a Honda Civic(used)
Gas prices=unleaded 0.89 $ a liter, oil 40$
Cellphones cost 51 $ service requires you to buy 6.67 $ of prepaid cards. A thousand buck can allow you live a nice life for a month in the Philippines. Internet connection is 22 $ a month. Everything in life is almost free. Have fun.

HI, My wife and I visit the Phils every year, and round trip airfare fluctuates from about $900 to $1400 (New Orleans to Cebu), based on time of year. Her family lives in Cagayan de Oro, not much to see there, but the island of Bohol is great, and the Bohol Diver's Resort is both cheap and fun, with a nice restaurant and swimming pool. A bottle of cold San Miguel beer will run you about $1 at the restaurant, or about 50 cents if you buy them at the grocery store and chill them yourself - but it is hard to find ice in the Philippines. By the way, if you smoke, a carton of Marlboros will set you back about $5 , yes, that's right, about 50 cents a pack. A fifth of rum or whiskey (local brand) will cost you about $1 !!! I've brought back a lot of ciggies and hootch over the years, I don't smoke, but my friends that do prefer the flavor of Filipino Marlboros. Do some research on line before you go, and when you are there, be sure to ride in a Jeepney!

Yes, twice because I am partly Filipina. Sorry, I can't recommend any good places to stay because I stayed with some of my relatives. The cost of the airplane tickets depends on the season and the airline. The best way to find out is by going to the airline's website and checking.

I was there several times in the 70's and 80's. I t was free because I was in the navy. It was cheap too. Two peso beer, about six or seven American dollars was a good night. Of course, I always got too inebriated to remember a whole lot of it. But I do know it was some of the best fun I ever had.

I lived there, and went to many places!
If you're looking for beaches, and resorts I highly suggest Boracay, or Cebu, or Subic.
For the city, and tourist places I suggest Manila, and Quezon City is close by also.
Boracay is very beautiful. Clear blue water, white sand..it's amazing.
Oh and the most fun place you can go for slight cool weather, horse back riding, malling, biking, etc. go to Baguio!!!

Flights £450-£850 with KLM from UK.
£23 a night double room in Malate/Ermita.
much cheaper if you head into the provinces.

its gorgeous, visit Intramuros for Spanish history, Corregidor for WWII history, Bohol or Boracay for beaches, Ta'al for an amazing volcanic lake, Angeles city for Mt Pinatubo, and Subic bay for wreck diving.

Or contact me directly for more info.
