What port does one need to open in a firewall to get Outlook Web Access accessible from the outside world? Eg. Static.IP.address:80 -> Internal.IP.address:???? - Is it 80 as well, or 443... or something else?

Thank you :-)

I forgot to add... I know *how* to do the actual port forward - I just needed to know which port number OWA 'listens' on. Sorry for not being clear to begin with ;-)

Google Port forwarding.
It's simple, but you just have to set it up.
I recommend configuring the host machine to use a static IP rather than DHCP -- that way things dont magically stop working someday.

UPDATE: You can easily determine the port numbers an application requires forwarded by:
1) Start the application on your host
2) Click start...Run. Enter cmd press ENTER
3) type netstat -a press enter
now it shows a list of all the ports that are currently open on your computer -- look for the ones marked as "Listening" -- these are server ports waiting for connections. Those are the ones you want to forward.

Note, that you may want to run netstat before starting your outlook server and afterwards to more precisely identify the ports being used -- there are other servers running that you may not necessarily want to forward to the Internet for security reasons.

You probably can. All depends on whether the IP address is being used for multiple websites or not. There is a technology called "Host Headers" which enables a company to ask remote Users to connect to a number of websites by connecting to the same IP address when each User connects, the URL/FQDN is read/parsed and then forwarded to the internal website accordingly. So, it can be worth a try but it's not guaranteed to work. It depends on whoever set up the Outlook Web Access.

You need pop3 port 110 and smtp port 25 for use with Outlook.
Both theses ports must be forwarded to the same port number (110 and 25 respectively) on the server. Be very cautious of smtp access to your own server, if you fail to secure it correctly you will become an open relay for spam, and your domain will be blacklisted. Also if your server is being used to relay from your domain it should be given a proper fully qualified domain name and an appropriate MX record set at your domain registrar's dns.
