Yes, for several reasons:
1) To kill bacteria
2) The smell of laundry detergent will remind you of home
3) Washing them makes them softer
Just a hint: Do NOT use fabric softener on your towels. Fabric softener will make your towels less absorbant. Just washing them in hot water and drying them on high will make them soft enough.
Good luck with college and dorm life!

I would it will save you some money if you have to pay to do laundry at college.
If the washers are broken down at college at least you will have soft sheets to sleep on and soft absorbent towels to use.
When you get there you will be busy with stuff and may not have time to do laundry.
Any number of things could happen that will prevent you from doing laundry. If you can't do them before you go, bring at least 1 set of sheets and enough towels from home (that are washed) so you can take one shower.
I find that new sheets are rough and scratchy and new towels don't absorb as well. Towels, if they are a dark color, tend to bleed on the skin and other things if they are not washed before there first use.

Definitely yes, and I'd say several times. Many new sheets have starch or sizing in them, so they look nice in the package. But that can also make them stiff and itchy. So wash them and they will be much softer.

Yes, it would be a good idea to wash them. Then, you will have clean sheets and towels to start with.

Yes, wash them.
New fabric has factory chemicals and sizing in it. The towels won't dry you until this stuff is laundered out of it. The sheets will be itchy until they are laundered too.

I would not use your sheet's or towel's before you leave for school, but I would wash them and use a good frabic softener so they would be nice and soft whwn you do use them.

Yes, I would wash them before leaving and if you need to wash them again at college.
You may also want to work on your proof reading before going to college. your new professors don't want to guess what your trying to say.
good luck.

I always did because they felt better drying off with and sleeping on. Besides the washers and dryers in our dorms were just grossly disgusting all caked with detergent, liquid fabric softener and everyone else's germies.
