I have a very small sample of some of my work on myspace at jackie_408_sc@yahoo.com- please take a look and let me know your opinion, I know there are not many and I intend to remedy that in the very immediate future, but I want to know some honest thoughts, and please do not hesitate to be honest. I have been surrounded by brutally honest people all of my life- so I am very well prepared to hear that I need to go to McD.'s and get an app. Please help- I need to find something very soon as I want to hurry & get there cuz my grandma has mesothilioma, and in feb, they gave her 2-6 mos. I am running out of time!!! I have 3 sons 7, 5, & 4 and I want to be able to make a living out of my home without worrying about taking a gas station job for 6.25 hr.- cost of living way cheap-( matches the pay) so hopefully I can figure something out- i already lost my dad & have a lot of guilt for not being there- i can't let it happen again- not when she is the biggest positive influence ive ever had

y'know, i was born and raised in wyoming...this is why i live anywhere else...you must like a solitary hick infested lifestyle, damned few folks in that neck of the woods have any incling of art appreciation...and there are damn few folks to find those few from in the first place.

Your best immediate option is to try to auction your pieces off on e-bay, but don't expect to get much for them. It's extremely difficult for artists of any kind (musicians, painters, sculptors, actors, dancers, writers) to be able to make enough to truly make a living off their work.

You might be able to break yourself into the market a little, but it's going to take some work. Do some online searches for art appreciation groups in the area where you live, and start making connections. If there's a museum, visit one and look for some networking. And yes, take the cheap job, but for the sole purpose of setting aside some funds to host an exhibit of your own so your work can make it out into the public. Call around and offer to donate some of your works for exhibit and get the publicity attached. Advertise yourself where it's allowed. Offer to give away a painting for free to your first couple clients. Once you sell one of your drawings, the rest should be a bit easier.

Good luck.

Do portraits of people. Wyoming will have beautiful outdoor setting where you can sketch, draw your clients.
I'm sure anyone would appreciate a special portrait of him/herself.

Good Luck with your move.
