Oohh yes. When I ring my best friend we are on there for hours. If any of my family ring and they keep getting an engaged signal they always know who I'm talking to and don't bother trying again for a good while. When I come off the phone my Husband asks what the news is over there and usually there isn't that much. He can never get over how we can spend so long talking about absolutely nothing really. As I explain it's just chatting, like when you call in and have a coffee with someone but as I'm not able to see her often we have to do it over the phone instead. Trouble is now since I've started using the Internet we email each other as well, it's great, trying to coax her to learn to I.M.!! Well you have to keep in touch don't you, we've been friends since we were children and that's something to be treasured!!

Now I've got it--that's why my left ear is flat! I talk to friends and kids all the time and have a network of really old friends that I call at least once a week to chat and see how they are doing. I was on the phone for almost 2 hours last night planning a trip to go yammer with two friends I have had since I was 4 and we will drag in our guy pal that has traveled the road with us. His mom is still active at 81 and one friends mom is still ornery as after at 80 after having 10 kids. We have some wonderful laughs.

Nope. I am not a phone person at all. If I get a phone call it is always to the point and thank you, and then off the phone again.
My mother (who I still miss even though she died in 2000) was quite a talker. I would torture myself staying on the phone as long as I could stand it when she called, and then instead of hanging up on her, I would hand the phone over to my youngest daughter (with the excuse that I had some laundry or something to see to). Then they'd both be off to the races nattering at each other. I often fell asleep on the couch long before they finished their phone conversations.

When I am at work, I use the phone just as a means of communicating information as quickly as possible. This seems to have spilled over into my home life and now I don't like talking past the point of the reason for phoning in the first place. If the reason for calling is just a chat, I like to get it over with asap.and would much sooner have the person round for a cuppa and a chinwag face to face.

Yes Sylvia. About 5weeks ago my Daughter rang. We speak about 3 times a week but this time I happened to be running a bath . Yes, you guessed it I flooded the bathroom. There was only about 1 inch of water on the floor but, 5 weeks later after 100,s of phone calls, we are still waiting for it to be sorted. Good job we have a downstairs bathroom.

I chat to my younger sister ( her middle name is Sylvia) all the time and somehow an hour and a half goes like lightning, I miss doing the same with my eldest sister who sadly died last August.I would be lost without the phone,I use my mobile every day for texting and was texting a friend in Switzerland last night until 2.15 am.

Yes, I talk on the phone a lot -for a long time. Since I don't have a home computer (I'm writing this at the public library) and since I really prefer talking rather than emailing, I make good use of my phone.

I used to have very long chats on the phone with my sister while I still lived in Ohio, but now, we don't talk that long since it's long distance now, because I moved out of state. Now, I have long talks on the phone with my daughter-in-law, who lives nearby. We have some great chats & I love hearing what my granddaughters are up to.

My freind of 43 years and I chat every night on the phone for hours too.The funny thing is we usually end up just saying Mmm to each other and having long pauses but we still won't come off the phone.I can't ever imagine not having our chats.

I don't like long phone conversations anymore. In fact I screen my calls. I could never talk for three hours! Bless you. I think that's why I like email and Ask Yahoo. Everything is short and to the point, when I feel like doing it.
BTW my phone number is: (321) 555-1212 LOL
