Ronald Reagan is my favorite president. He did so many great things for this country. He truly cared for the United States. I also respect his relationship with God.

Some of the successes of Ronald Reagan are:

*He helped the economy tremendously.
*He started the "War on Drugs," in which he helped to fight the illegal use of drugs.
*He appointed the first female Supreme Court Justice.
*He was elected for a second term as the president.
*Signed the Immigration Reform and Control Act.
*Was president at the time of the Cold War.
*And he was a successful actor!! Can't forget that!! haha

Those are just some of the great things Ronald Reagan did as President. He was a great man. I respect him completely.

Good question! ***

I saw the documentary about President Reagan, and it offers some very convincing evidence that after Reagan survived the assassination attempt, and combined with his old age, he was largely unable to remember much, and make important decisions. The American government was run by a shadow government that used Reagan as its figure head.

The only success which I can suggest is the success achieved in making people like loopy believe that Reagan was largely responsible for those things - but they were the work of others working behind the scenes. They couldn't have found a better actor to play the role of the President.

Not even close. On what do you base your vote that he was one of the best? - he perverted of Franklin Delano Roosevelt's tactic of economic stimulation by deficit spending. Reaganomics was no more than a pyramid scheme. Conservatives engaged in the bald-faced lie that they stood for lower taxes when the reality is that Reagan signed the biggest tax increase ever in U.S. History. In fact in his 8 years Reagan signed legislation that raised taxes 8 times. - he completely compromised the effectiveness of the military as a whole by spending obscene amounts of money on weapons and training that were totally useless or unnecessary. This compromised the lives of many soldiers like the 40 Marines in Lebanon who didn't have enough security to protect them from a suicide-minded terrorist. - he relaxed the rules on the Food and Drug Administration as well as the Federal Aviation Administration with very real and very disastrous results. Reagan also set back research on AIDS, proclaiming it a homosexual disease. - he also did much to turn back civil-rights legislation in order to favor white-owned big businesses and split up the poor working class to keep it at odds with itself in very polarized factions. Race relations were set back so dramatically that we're still trying make amends for it more than a decade later. - he also set new records for deficit spending and increases in the size of government at a time when it was common Republican mantra to be for 'smaller government'. - he was also the commander in chief during the far reaching and horrific Iran Contra scandal - the list could go on and on..........

He was successful in that he was elected two times, served as President for eight years, and he still has many strong admirers. Whether his administration was a success is a matter of opinion - largely based on whether one agrees with the direction he took foreign and economic policy. My opinion is that he was extremely successful at achieving his goals, but some of his goals were bad policy: illegally supplying arms to Iran in exchange for the release of U.S. and other hostages, completely in contravention of Congressional mandates forbidding arms sales to Iran; maintaining a cordial relationship with the Baath Party in Iraq, despite it abuses of the populace - abuses we insisted sickened us to the point of war when they continued two decades later; and defense spending and priorities which offended the left and some of the center of the political spectrum.

that's an opinion question so it looks like you are going to have to do your own work. Pay attention in class and maybe it won't be so hard to form an opinion.
In my opinion, Reagan was an terrible president.
