I have tried windex and bon ami and neither one gets rid of the streaks. They look wonderfully clean but as soon as the sun hits them in the evening they look horribly streaked. what can I use?

You can wash your windows with vinegar and water (be sure to dilute the vinegar or it will really smell). You can also buy windex with vinegar in it. Try cleaning your windows with newspapers. It seems to get rid of the streaks. Also try cleaning the windows during when the sun is shining through the window. It will give you a better perpective on where your streaks may be. Happy cleaning!

Try using newspaper as the cleaning medium. Go with windex. Make sure you are getting both sides of each window.

Best way to clean your windows is the good old fashioned method. News paper warm water and a little vinegar. Soak the news paper , crumple it up and wipe , and no streaks. Just remember to use gloves , this way you won´t stain your fingers with the ink from the news paper.

Use 'white vinegar' and water ... wash with a soft rag and POLISH (and dry) with wadded up newspaper. Dry with 'up and down' strokes first, then do it again with 'back and forth' strokes. Your windows will REALLY SHINE ... but if you don't do 'both sides' you will still see some 'streaks' ... so do it on a 'lcoudly but not rainy day' and do both the inside and the outside of your windows for the 'best resulsts' ...

Mix one part (2-3 spoonfuls) dishwashing liquid with one part white spirit and one part vinegar, add water (2-3 litres), and apply using soft cloth. Rub dry with scrunched up newspaper.
