I wouldn't. It carries risks and I feel that a guy should be able to choose what he wants (if he wants to get cut, he can). That, and circumcision isn't popular anymore, the rates are as low as 14% in some states). I'll talk more about it and link the pages below. When hard whether circumcised or not they look alike anyways. Circumcision is a traditionally Jewish and Muslim procedure, although it was introduced and encouraged to the Western, developed world as a way to stop masturbation, especially with the help of Dr. Kellogg. (see link 1) However, although scientific studies have discovered that circumcision harms masturbation by up to over 60% (2), needless to say, it doesn’t completely stop masturbation. Many circumcised guys find it more convenient to use a commercial lubricant as a result (3) since the typically moist foreskin that is like the eyelids is not present to rub the glans with (4).
Most developed nations quickly rejected circumcision after noticing its ineffectiveness against masturbation, and as a result the United States remains the last developed nation doing it to a significant percentage of newborns. (5) This was done as a result of the for-profit American health care system promoting myths about benefits of circumcision (6), such preventing penile cancer (6a, 6b), preventing HIV (6c, 6d) despite the USA being the developed nation with the highest HIV rates and circumcision rates (6e, 5), and preventing STDs (6d, 6f). As a result, circumcision is now brings in hundreds of millions of dollars to doctors and the American health system. (7)
However, circumcision has been becoming less popular as years have passed by. In the 1960s over 90% of guys were circumcised in the USA, now circumcision rates are as low as 14% in some states. (8) More and more parents are discovering that circumcision carries more risks than benefits, and realize that by leaving their sons uncircumcised, they have the choice of choosing what they’d like, since the surgery is irreversible.
Circumcision risks include the loss of sexual pleasure according to multiple studies (2, 9, 10, 11). Those studies take into effect many sensation points, including the foreskin, and they involve many participants. There have been other studies that claim no difference, but they don’t even take into effect the nerve endings on the foreskin, which as seen in one study, are some of the most sensitive points on the penis (10). One study even found an increase in erectile dysfunction rates after circumcision (10a). In another study, it was found that females ended up reaching orgasm with and preferring uncircumcised males in 9 out of 10 cases (10b). In addition, circumcision is extremely painful on newborns (12, 13, 14), and you risk many bad conditions, such as a buried penis when too much foreskin is removed and limits the size of the penis (15), or adhesions or skin bridges that develop from the head to the shaft when the skin heals after the surgery (16), meatal stenosis [occurs in up to 10% of circumcised males!] when the opening of the penis becomes irritated from too much exposure and rubbing and begins to close up (17), and meatal ulcers (18). All those risks are, of course, not including the possibility of having too much skin removed, which can cause discomfort during erections due to lack of skin to allow the penis to expand, and could consequently cause a hairy penis by pulling pubic hair and skin to the shaft. Often a circumcision scar develops around the penis after circumcision. In addition, circumcision has negative effects on breastfeeding. (18)
To conclude, here is a link that describes the anatomy of the foreskin (19) and the development of the foreskin with infants, a link especially helpful for parents (19a). Ultimately, one survey found that although uncircumcised guys are a bit more satisfied percentage-wise, it’s within the margin of error. (20) The only difference is that those unsatisfied uncircumcised guys can simply get circumcised and end up satisfied either way. In addition, in one survey it was found that up to half of circumcised guys expressed concerns on wishing to have had the choice themselves. (21) That, along with the risks and negative effects that are being seen more with the help of the Internet, may be what is bringing down circumcision rates.

NO! It is his penis, not yours, so at the very least let him make the choice when he's older.
If you have a google you will see that no medical or paediatric associations recommend non-medical circumcision. There are no benefits. You will hear a little bit about a smaller chance of circumcised guys contracting things like HIV, but the risk is still there, and it most certainly does not mean that a circumcised man can have unsafe sex with infected people and not get HIV. It just means the risk is slightly, slightly smaller.
Regarding hygiene, think about it the penis was designed/evolved with a foreskin...it is there to protect the glans...it's attached in little people and can be retracted and washed in older people. Most guys know how to handle that, it's not hard. Circumcised guys still need to shower.
Regarding cosmetic reasons...how often do people really compare penises? I would say not very often. Most men in the world are uncircumcised; in the US the rates vary but uncircumcised guys are definitely not a tiny minority, there are plenty of them. Girls who say they prefer circumcised AND won't go with an uncircumcised guy are evidently superficial idiots. Although it's not the most important thing to me, personally I prefer uncircumcised.
Oh yeah, and an uncircumcised guy can change their status at any time, whereas circumcision is non-reversible. (Although people try. Google "foreskin restoration", would you want your son to have to be one of those guys?)

Circumcision is IRREVERSIBLE.
Every mother should let her son decide when he is old enough, barring any health concerns I can predict that he wont want anyone cutting on his genitals.
Health concerns are NEGLIGABLE most doctors agree that cleanliness will prevent urinary tract infections and like from having foreskin.
Think on this: I am a circumcised male and constantly wonder what "natural" sex would feel like for me had I not been circumcised. I'm 27 years old and have always had the opposite of premature ejaculation, much to the frustration of my wife. Perhaps with foreskin and heitened sensitivity I would be normal in this regard.

The only places in the world where I would recommend it are those with poor access to hygiene (running water, soap).
It is a surgical procedure, and in rare cases it can go wrong.
A good rule of thumb with surgical procedures is that unnecessary ones - you avoid. And I say this being circumcised and having no problem with it.

I'm circumcised. I hate it. Please don't circumcise your kid. It's like cutting extra skin off any other part of the body. And makes just as much sense.
People say its for cleanliness, but, the skin can be exercised to be pulled back like a circumcised penis, and cleaned normally. If you teach your son clean hygiene, which I don't doubt that you will, because it seems like you care about your son, he will be clean.

ok now i don't know about what age
but i am circumcised and well...i wouldn't want any other way
this is because when kids are little there is a possibility that it could get infected
there is also the possibility of it being to tight and when they get an erection it being really painful
and lastly when they are about 10 and they aren't very clean...or clean at all (not like to take baths and well...it can get pretty nasty...so i would just get it done)
good luck

It can get infected under teh forskin, but with good hygene, thats not a problem. Men who got cut later in life say they had better sex before they were circumsised. I was circumsized at birth so i cant tell you anything else about being uncut. Yah, im uncut, like Wedding Crashers.

They say that there is less chance of infection with circumcision because it is easier to keep clean.....however there are other thoughts that say that it is not....who knows....Why would GOD give you something, just to have you snip it off?? Go figure....Talk to your doctor about the pro's and con's....Good Luck

i would. actually, the best time to have a circumcision would be when the child is 8 days old. doctors say it is the best time because that area is most developed. it is also said that it is healthier to be circumsised. good luck on ur decision.

No PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Natural is better. People will claim that it is unsanitary, but I have never had a problem in all my years. And there are many guys that have been cut, that are now trying to get restored. If he choosed to be circumsized later, that is a way easier procedure.
