thats its badd is it my friends told me that ppl can track u down

It's not bad - just be safe on it and use your brain. I mean if you have an abusive ex or someone you are trying to avoid then I guess it could be sketchy as your friends are right, it is really easy to track people down off of myspace. I have found almost all of my old friends and a couple of exes on there.

But there are safety options on myspace like keeping your page private, only allowing people you know to add you, etc.

People can track you down, you can set your profile to private, that's about all you can do to keep people from seeing your profile, but they will still be able to find your picture and the information on your age and location.

well first ppl cant track u down .. well .. they can but they cant u know .. i think ur scared like there gnna hack u or somthing. no thats not gnna happen just put your profile on private if ur not comftorable about the fact ppl can see ur picture than dont put ur picture up put up an icon ?? .. and on ur picture album put on ur pictures which ur FRIENDS can see just try making a myspace and see if ur comftorable or not wid it .. and remember u dont HAVE to have a myspace.. but most of the time its pretty useful i got in touch wid friends that i lost contact wid and i luv decorating my myspace page and such

Wrong, they can.

MySpace has many security flaws that can allow users to track your IP address, which people could indeed use to get your address. Along with that, every month multiple sexual predators are found on MySpace by undercover police officers that lure them out.

Hey, I have had a myspace a long time now.. Yeah people can track you down on there, but thats what people are on there for.. As long as they know your name , they can find ya anywhere online.. Its like everything else, you dont click on things that people send you if you dont know them.. Hope that helped ya out

yea its true. unfortunatly. on your profile or whatever tells any info about you, like school, age, times and schedules that u do stuff alone - they have their ways. those pervs must be desperate. even when u dont say straight out "im alone at my house every tuesday and thursday from 12 till 4" they figure it out over time. its so sad and annoying.

I have a myspace to. but its not a big deal if you deniy people you don't know and only accept people you know in real life. but you can get your account hacked or "phished" but just change your password every month adn you will be fine. and no people can't track you down. there was a roumor goin around that myspace.trackers.com was giveing out trackers to see who last viewed your page but DO NOT SIGN UP FOR IT!! they will store your password and hack you or deltet your account. so don't worry myspace is fun and it can be fun if you know who to stay around and who not to go near

If you have your profile set to privite it's not as bad. Also dont accept friend requests from people you dont know. It might be a good idea to use a fake age and location too.

Don't put any personal information on there.
If you are really worried, go to your Account Settings and change your profile to Private.
No one can get to you there.

If you have a private myspace with no personal information, you're all set.

Go to your profile settings and set it to private. This way only your friends on myspace can see it. Make sure you do the same for your pics if you have any.
