Times are changing, and older people that are in important positions today (senate/congress/office) are not thinking in terms of "todays" America. An analogy is how many older people think spanking as a form of punishment for kids is ok is greater than todays parents think it is.Also its not right that people that are going to die in 15 years are making decisions that effect people that have to live with it for thier whole life (40-60 years) after they are gone.

Maybe younger is better. How about Michael Moore or Sean Hannity. Older and experienced is always better. Look at the way kids are being raised now,it is ridiculous. There is no discipline whatsoever. I certainly don't advocate beating the children but a little discipline would be nice.

Life experience, just being on this planet long enough to see and learn a variety of things not taught in schools, is one of the necessary ingredients of quality leadership. Thus the age requirements for elected officials spelled out in the Constitution of the United States.

Although the Baby Boomer generation is in charge now (almost) we will fade away in the not so distant future. It is our responsibility to hand over to our children and grandchildren a world that is a little better than what we found. In some ways we are succeeding and in others we are failing miserably.

The input of younger people as to the kind of world they want to inherit is an absolute necessity. I, for one, need to know what everyone thinks, young or old.

It is the way it has been and has not failed us before. Experience in government is more and more crucial to making the right decisions.

Young is not better. Older people have experience and wisdom.
