What concepts of democracy are favorable?

Too much freedom sometimes create chaos and this is the negative aspect of democracy.

On the other hand, free enterprise or the right of the people to decide on their businesses is one of the favorable element of democracy.

The majority, while being the deciding factor in democracy, can sometime bully the minority. Not talking about race here, just to clarify. I'm speaking about opinions. But that problem only surfaces in the extreme in Classical democracy, i.e Greek city-states, town hall meeting, one vote equals one vote. In our system, a representative democracy, the voting minority is more protected and thus a healthy balance is preserved, and everyone is for the most part content.
