use a wet-vac....you can get them anywhere ( walmart, lowes,,)

Use a shop vac to soak up as much water as possible (remember to remove the filter) and then turn on a fan and aim it at the wet carpet. Leave the fan on for at least 8 hours after you think the carpet is dry.

If it's just a bit throw dry towels down, stand on them, wring out, stand on them ring out, etc etc if it's more than 5 gallons I would haul butt and rent a carpet cleaner to suck up the water. It depends on what you live in..house, apartment /condo and how much water.

YOU VACCUUM UP THE WATER AND EMPTY THE WATER
