yes you need an agent, but more importantly you need training and a resume before an agent will give you the time of day. If you have not taken acting classes and you don't have any roles on your resume then you need to do that first.

Unless you are simply lucky the agencies will only take your money and the portfolios require a significant amount of money so my advice to you is keep your good looks going in the best place, at home.
