There is no replacement for bleach it is not harmful if used correctly! If don't want harsh smell rinse clothes 2 x this will rid the smell! P S only use Clorox generics do not work as well they tend to yellow things and smell is a factor! Must keep clothes and kitchens and bathrooms bleached at all time to remove bacteria and germs. Ajax or comet for toilets and Clorox clean up for sinks and tubs and kitchen! Its a must!

Try OxyClean. Worked for a bleach manufacturer and own stock in another. The cheapest is just as good as the high priced.
51/2% sodium hypocloride,c12h22o11, and water. Except Purex which is 6%.

I like to use baking soda in ALL my washloads. It freshens/deodorizes and is super cheap. I buy a 12 lb. bag from the wholesale store and it costs about $5 or under. I also use it to freshen the rugs, to brush my teeth and exfoliate my face.. Also in my shampoo to get out styling product and make my hair shiny... So, I'd try that in the wash if you want something different than bleach... It's also a good use for expired baking soda instead of just throwing it away ! good luck

Borax is a great germ killer. So are some of the non-bleach alternatives like Biz Stain Activated Non-Bleach laundry booster. I also add vinegar to my rinse water the acidity kills bacteria, too.
