I like instances of change. I can certainly understand the advantages of stability, but, the interest of change and all it entails enthralls me more. As has been said, variety is the spice of life. Far be it from me to disregard this fact. I have always preferred the edge to the mainland. I like an exciting existence over the mundane for what it's worth. Success is a fulfilling existence. Happiness is in the moment. Today I felt happy many times over. I particularly enjoyed a minor and brief thunderstorm this day. I made an effort to confront this weather event, not unusually for me. I have always particularly liked weather events. Especially storms. They're awesome. I love the way the trees sway so violently and the wind howls as the rain pounds down on the earth. The violence of the natural world with it's majesty astounds my being and I'm belittled by it's strength and at the same time empowered by it.

I have yet to have a period of stability... I feel that my life has been all about instances of change. I'd be happy to have one stable year but that is yet to happen! I believe that even with all the change that I have been somewhat successful. I think I would be happier if things would just settle down.

When younger, I was constantly hungry for change, but now I treasure the little bit of stability that I have managed to create. Raising a child made stability both necessary and possible for me. I felt it was essential to provide stability for my son, as he suffered from his father and me separating.

Also I remember from my childhood how hard it was to adjust to a series of new schools in a short time, and I wanted him to have the same schoolmates all the way through.

I have succeeded in this until this year, when he had to go to a Special School instead of the local state high school. (He has an acquired brain injury from a fall when he was almost 9, which makes learning very difficult for him.)

Meanwhile his father has continued to move house every year or two, and had 2 long-term relationships since he broke up with me. (I've stayed single, and abstinent!.)

I'd say that both make a person successful. I feel like change makes me stronger therefore I'm successful dealing with the change. And then on the other hand, periods of stability bring about feeling successful because you've avoided large amounts of adversity.

i'm no longer able to communicate for all Democrats yet i could be elated. the priority seems to be no person has bothered to define fulfillment or win for us. we've been advised the venture grow to be finished and that Al Qaeda grow to be in its final throes however the mess keeps unabated. persons are on third rotations to Iraq. Are you advocating 4th and 5th rotations? can we want a draft to fill in for the cannon fodder being lost on an primary basis over there? Frankly i do no longer supply a rat's in the back of approximately Iraq. I care approximately my own usa, which looks to have lots of issues good now whether we don't comprise Dubya's conflict of revenge. perhaps if we give up that insanity we are able to start to concentration on issues that are important to our way of life and not attempt to mould somebody into "mini us".

Both. There has to be growth within a framework of stability. I want my roots to stay in the same soil, but I want my leaves to change color each fall, and every year I want them to be a bit closer to the dome of the sky.

As far as family and social life are concerned , stability is more important.
As for professional life/career changes if they are your choice, more than often , denote successes and promotions.

stability is a foundation -- it is necessary for everything. you can blame your parents for lots of things. the psycho world we live in has forgotten that there is constructive change and less than constructive change. when your new boss tries to implement something that won't fly and passes the "change is good" crap its best not to reply with "you mean constructive change is good" because you just went over his pea sized grasp of reality. if they ever expect you to sit through "who moved my cheese" then its best to just quit.

what is most needed in your success is constructiveness. good luck finding it.
