In order to be effective, players like Francis need to have the ball. ALL THE TIME. Is this going to happen ? Wait a minute, Houston already has a guy who has the ball in his hands a lot - somebody named McGrady. So to make a contribution, Stevie boy will have to run the court, set picks, give it up (to Yao as well) and function in a complementary role. Oh yeah, they'll want him to play some defense too, which was never a strong point for him.

Can he do this ? Sure. Will he want to ? We'll just see but the Stevie Francises of the world sometimes have a difficult time changing their stripes. But he has one thing going for him. If he screws up this opportunity he'll be gone. So he may be focused on the task.

Steve Francis has never been a team player even back then when he did play for the Rockets. He was a self-centered prick who never wanted to play 2nd fiddles to Yao. He thought he was truly the franchise and the team will never give him up. Boy was he wrong. So are the Rockets getting back the same old Steve or a new and more mature Steve. He has to remember that he will be the third option on the team and will he be able to live with that. That is still a question that remains needs to be answer. Another question is whether Francis can perform at the same level he did a few years back. He was hurt most of last year and didn't play many games in New York so will injury be a problem for him next season? Has father time finally caught up the franchise? The best case scenario I see is Francis ressurects his career because he's will be play the part of a role player and help contribute to the team's success. He won't average a lot of points, assists, and boards like he did back then but he gives the Rockets a stable point guard who can come through and aid Yao and McGrady at crunchtime. Worst case scenario has Francis coming back and not gelling with the team as they originally thought he would. It would be a similar case like last year in New York where he couldn't play at the level expected of him playing next to Marbury. Francis gets frustrated, gets injured, and stays out for most of the year. Rockets get knocked out in the playoffs again and Steve gets traded for the gazillion time in his career. End of story.

It really depends on whether he defers to teammates. It's obvious he's not the guy there anymore and he'll have to learn to pass to T-Mac and Yao if he is going to be a successful player in Houston again. If he can accomplish that, the scoring will come and he'll likely be recognized as a comeback player.

He'll be about what he was in New York, or like 11 ppg, 3 rebs, but will have more assists (from 4 to 5 assists).

yes because he is with a good team unlike new york and Orlando and he has weapons around him t-mac and yao and then with his penetrating ability he can pass it to battier in the corner for 3 like Shawn Marion so i think he will be a huge key to success!

I really hope so. If him. Scola, and Mike James make a big impact they have a good shot at the title.

I don't. If he couldn't get a starting job for the Knicks alongside Marbury, that's just sad.

Two chances, slim and none. He is a good guy but the game has left him behind.
