Ever been in my place? It usually means they want me to do something nearly impossible and are upset cause I didn't.

Sometimes I take a look at myself and realize that I really am making excuses. But then some times I want to tell the person saying that to shut the hell up.

What comes to mind is to say (just like this) "I am not making excuses; I was explaining my predicament. However, no need to worry, I won't tell you of my problems again." Then walk away. Believe me it works.
