i would like to know seperately how much maximum sd-RAM can be increased on p3 , on p4 , on dual core.
Also as per the operating system ie: win98, win2000, win XP support how much maximum sd-RAM ?
please i am more interested for data of p3.

p3 im not sure about ... but i can tell u for sure xp has a 3 gig limit .. i think vista does also unless its ultimate .. i think 98 is 1 gig limit with default system settings ..

ram limits are defined by motherboard manufacturers.
if u have a p3 machine u can add 128 / 256 / 512 /1024 mb modules. the 1024 mb modules might not be compatible with all p3 motherboards. also check for the ram bus speed that the motherboard can support. check the motherboard manuals for more detailed info.

os limits for ram are as:
windows 98 512 mb
windows 2000 4 gb
windows xp 3 gb

The limit you will run into is your motherboard will only support a certain amount of RAM... which is probably less than the processor can support.

Also 98/xp/2000 don't care about sd-ram or ddr... that's the chipset on the motherboard that decides what sort of RAM.

It depends on the motherboard. Many Pentium lll can support 3x256mb, others can support 2x512mb.
Most PC now on XP or Vista have motherboards that support 4 to 8 Gb RAM.
