In past years people used to use "etiquette" and "social" and not want to hurt anyone's feelings so they would not only watch what they said to one another, but many times you wouldn't even hear about any problem for maybe 30 years and only then would it slip out from the person who had the problem and not from friends of relatives.
Two things happened, the internet (forums, blogs, what peoiple call freedom of speech, bullying, etc.) and politically words became "politically correct" all of which has caused grief among people and they have done it in the name of "freedom of speech".
There are other things that have surfaced, the ability to send automated emails or the link to an email that goes straight to a garbage can. And, things like when you ask someone to be courteous all they wish to do is fight, and they think that is their true freedom, when what it truly is is a message that says they don't want to be bothered and it's caused lots of frustration everywhere and every place. Of course, once you open the jack-in-the-box you can't get it back in the box.
I prefer going back to the early 1980's. I'm really tired of people trying to voice their opinions of true freedom. It used to be nice when people were true friendly neighbors and there was no internet. Ahhh..the new good old days.

Absolutely. Go to the Middle East and voice your opinion about women's rights or religion. If it's different from theirs you will know the meaning of true freedom immediately.

Unless you've lived in a country where your freedoms are restricted, it's hard to feel the the loss. The loss of choice of
religion, speech, as a person[a womans rights]and your personal dress code. It's core liberties that we take for granted as women. You must hide in black material for anothers religion. You can't speak your mind because you can be locked up without the right of habeas corpus. When a religous policeman can strike your legs with sticks. Because you have hair showing from under the vail you must wear in 115 degree temps. You have to to be thereto feel it..

instantaneous reaction : from the united kingdom (Britainistan) perspective, it became marvelous that the Christmas / trip Tree argument did no longer lead the place i became looking forward to, nor became Islam ever reported. Stylistically : I puzzled why i found it one among those compelling study regardless of if it includes some non-sequiturs to assert the least. This guy sounds like an extremely functional, humane guy. must be by way of stability and rhythm, properly-built sentences etc. I doubt (specially from information gleaned in this august communicate board) that usa is "an explicitly atheist united states of america". he's one among those competent author that i ought to a minimum of bear to study his take on the drained 'if God is solid, how ought to He enable this to ensue' question. I enjoyed the paragraph approximately Dr.Spock and judgment of right and incorrect. perhaps that exhibits my age. i'm sufficiently previous to bear in mind what it became like until now priceless 'shallowness', 'place fashions' etc took over. each and each paragraph is surely-argued, yet I reluctantly suspect that the entire, regardless of if properly-written, provides as much as an incoherent rant.

No, that's only half of it. True Freedom is acheived when you are willing to BACK UP what you say.

Yes and no. It depends how you voice it. Burning crosses would, for instance, be an inappropriate way to do this.

Well I think it's a very important part of it but it would also be nice if someone would actually listen to what you say.
