I just want a simple one-three sentence plot line.
I'm trying to look for ideas.
Something like Kate DeCamillo's Tale of Desperaux
Fantasy maybe.

And please don't give me any pointers on getting ideas. I am asking YOU for plots.

OK and if you'd like to tell me any characters or creatures that you have in mind that you've made up?

My favorite character ever is probably Desperaux. He was shooo cuute. =)

And the whole "Make it up yourself, or if you can't don't write the book" is getting old. I'll probably make up a plot myself I'm just seeing what you guys can come up with if you don't mind sharing.

Just begin jotting sentences on 3x5 notecards. Then pin the cards on a bulletin board or lay them on a table in front of you. Keep refining your ideas until you have the plot line that will inspire you to write your own oridinal book.

I have no actual ideas but some advice that I hope will help you. I know two published authors.

Write about things you know and it will show in the work. Do not attempt to imitate other writers that you read. Do your research. They all stress this.

The fantasy romance genre has been done to death and it's hard to come up with an original idea that has not been used or is original. Time travel, or the idea of bringing a well known romantic character from back in time to the present is a popular concept and usually a successful one. As you may well know thousands of novels have been written but few are published.

Good luck
Eric

Don't worry about plots. Worry about characters. Develop a rich and vibrant character, create his or her backstory and where they are and what kind of education they have and what drives them in life. Then you can put this character in any kind of plot (steal the basic plot from any of a thousahd different other stories) and let them go at it.

Once you have the character everything else will fall in place. So work on that character. Be fore you know it you will have a thousand different story ideas and the character will take on a life of his/her own in your mind.

If you can't think up your own plot, what makes you can think you can write a whole novel around someone elses?

Your ideas have to be your own, hon. Try brainstorming in a black and white marble notebook. Fill it up with any stuff that comes to your mind. then go back and read what you wrote and see what strikes you as a subject. Pax- C
