I live in Houston too. It wont be too bad. We'll only get the top waves of it (unless it shifts of course) Do you remember Allison? It may be like half of that. There will be flooding, but we get floods with normal rain storms and there will be wind, but not as heavy as Brownsville or Corpus. We'll be fine. Get a book and a flash light ready in case the power goes out!

All Erin is, is a big storm. Too close to shore to gain the extra strength to be a hurricane. Flooding will be the only problem. Dont forget, Texas has been deluged with rain all summer.

If people would do their research, they would see that history repeats it's self. You just need to investigate the patterns.

In 1925 (before hurricanes were named) a major storm hit New Orleans and flooded the lower 9th ward. 40 years later (1925 + 40= 1965) in 1965 Hurricane Betsy hit New Orleans and flooded the lower 9th ward.

Another 40 years after Betsy (hint: 1965 + 40= 2005) Hurricane Katrina hits New Orleans and floods the lower 9th ward.

Look at what storms hit your particular area and look for any cycles like in New Orleans. According to the New Orleans cycle, N.O. should get a major storm in the year 2045 (2005 + 40= 2045).

It looks like Mother Earth goes through her cycles. You just have to notice them.

Some rain.

What you should keep an eye on is Dean, cause it could be headed you way, next week, as a major hurricane.
