I don't think so, it's best to ask your doctor, but TSS (toxic shock syndrome) is usually the result of changing your tampon too early. If you are too dry, you can cause tiny tears in your inner lining, this is what results in issues such as TSS. Pads are the safest method, however, TSS is very rare today.

Not to my knowledge. Although there was a BOY who got TSS through a scratch on his arm!

No, because the bacteria grows on the tampon which is inside your body. Bacteria has to grow in a very moist, enclosed environment, such as were your tampon would be.
