Midlife crisis, life becomes mundane, it is also a well known fact, this is the age group they are more likely to have an affair as well. Makes them feel young again!
Mum's with young children feel isolated and tied down and miss the freedom they once enjoyed!
So yes, I agree with this!

I'll agree! and I feel a bit happier knowing that I now only have one year left before being happy again LOL There does appear to be good reason for us being unhappy though. The first reason is that we have passed our wreckless stage of life and are now serious. Because of this, we have opened our eyes and can see the real state of this world. Under 35 and you don't care enough to see. Once I turn 46, I will be much happier as then I know that in another 20 to 30 years, which is much less than I have already lived, I will die and therefore, I won't give a damn about the state of the world. After 10 years of being one of the miserable mid 30s to mid 40s sods, I can now say I have tried to do my bit and give up LOL As for the mums with young kids, they are our daughters and that's another good reason for us to be miserable LOL However, at 46 to 56 we do get happier as those single mothers have now got grown up kids that have left home and it's our turn to have fun with younger women LOL

Why read an article in the Daily mail and then do the lefty BBC a favour by insulting it? Anyway, I think that they have a point, if you haven't achieved by the time that you reach that age group, you will feel a failure. But whatever you do, don't take to reading the 'Guardian'. That way you will have proved that you are a failure.

I am in the upper end of that age group
I am secure in my job
I have more disposable income.
I have had more love affairs - and sex affairs - than ever before in my life.
I am old enough to have gotten over my hangups. peer pressure is a thing of the past.
I have travelled wider, for longer, and in more luxury than when I was a a younger person.
I've learnt much, and gotten over my superstitions. I am comfortable and secure in my (lack of) religion.
I can imagine it is a possible statistical generalisation, but it doesn't apply to me

Agree, all other groups of people are catered for, sex, race, disability, age, you name it.
Any support groups for 35-45 yr olds, No.
Men of that age have done all they need to in life when it comes to people around them all thats left is to be grumpy.
Bet most of them are married!

I don't think I've been happy since the VI form, but I manage a lugubrious satisfaction with life that can give happiness a run for it's money!
