Trevor Linden is too old to play like he did 13 years ago, he hasn't played any major Role for any team, since vancouver first traded him.

Same thing as last year.
Last year Nonis tendered a contract to Linden on July 3rd, Linden signed it on September 11th after getting a non-roster invite to camp..
Nonis has already tendered him a contract, Linden is probably pondering it.
Linden is 37 years, he has played 1447 regular season and playoff games. He's not young. I'm sure at that age he is thinking about retirement almost as much as he's thinking about another season in Vancouver.

He's old and isn't playing at nearly the level he used to. he could be useful on a few teams, but for the most part, he's too much salary and liability for the contribution he makes.
It's just risk assessment.

He is getting old, he still is ok but is there for leadership. I think he will retire this year. Vancouver seems to be done with him.
