The other respondents have told you where to get GW Basic.
I'm just suggesting that if you wish to learn BASIC, you would be better off to get Quick Basic or QBasic.
I understand that those versions will allow you to make .exe files (executables).
I believe they are limited to 64K of file size for making .exe files but it is a great learning tool for splash screens etc.
PS: My first attempt at programming was with GWBasic. It is fine to start with but don't hesitate to learn a later version and then progress to Visual Basic.
PPS: I've heard of a BASIC Language learning group (try GOOGLE GROUPS), where you can get all the help you might need.

Man, that's an old program. I have not heard of that in years.
You can get it here.
