Autumn... it goes back to my school years.

When I was a kid, I was a whiz at school. I looked forward to the new textbooks, the new clothes, the new possibilities, the new challenges. It really became the start of my year. There was a freshness in the air with the autumn winds, the changing colours of the the leaves, the briskness of the cool air.

And then there was the inevitable playing in the piles of dropped leaves and the gathering of fallen chestnuts from the place on Orange Street. Playing street hockey and watching the new episodes of Carol Burnett or MASH. Hallowe'en was another favourite time as was Thanksgiving with mom's all day cook-a-thon. It just became part of me

Those traditions have not all died; I now am going back to school and at 44 I still enjoy to play in the fallen leaves and feel the cool air in the morning fresh off the bay.

Peace and thanks :-)

Fall is my fave. The leaves turning firey reds and oranges. The crisp air, not too hot, not too cold, and fewer bugs.
