Mr Lincoln produces blooms of 5-6 inches with intense lemony fragrance. ~35 petals in dark red.

You are looking for a very large flowered red rose. My largest is Mr Lincoln. Just be aware that if your roses were not from a garden they are likely to be florists roses. It is very rare to find florists roses available to the home gardener because they are bred for greenhouse culture so are very disease susceptible.

Here is a list of large flowered red roses

They were probably English roses.
You can check this page and see if any of these roses resemble yours. These double and full roses tend to be very large. If you are interested in a rose plant you can order from this site as well. The prices are reasonable and the roses are fabulous.
Just select double/full, English, and Red and you will get a page you can compare your roses too.
