Since sunglows lack the protection of melanin, their eyes would theoretically be more sensitve to the effects of UVA. It is known to cause cataracts in humans with long exposure. The good news is that reptile heat bulbs produce very little UVA and the secretive nature of snakes means the exposure to their eyes would be minimal. I would not be worried about it but it's a good question.

I prefer to feed my hatchlings a single pinkie every 5 days but if you are doubling up then they can certainly be fed at 7 day intervals. You will get a healthier growth rate with 6 to 8 pinkies per month rather then 4 (one per week)

You ask alot of snake questions . You might want to check out the forum at http://www.repticzone.com

A corn snake does not need a UVB light at all .You should be using a UTH not a light . Anyone telling you different does not have a clue as to how to care for a corn snake . Fluorescent UVB lights do not get hot but some others do . I am not familiar with the sunglow . If it can burn your hand it can burn your snake even if he doesn't touch it . You should not have any light on a corn snake . It will dry out his habitat , taking all the humidity out of the cage .If he got burnt , if its not to bad apply antibiotic ointment twice a day . Make sure he is on news paper , not a loose substrate or it will stick to the wound and ointment . . If its bad take him to a vet asap .Now for your feeding question . You should feed a hatchling corn snake every 4 -5 days not every 7 days . Adults can go 7-10 days but not babies . I would offer two . If he eats two great .

I have a spotted python since hatchling. 1 pinkie a week is plenty.

Once he gets a little bigger, either move to two pinkies a week or 1 fuzzie a week.

Newly hatches snakes should be fed one pinky every 3rd day. Heat lamps are used so that the snake can bask under them, snakes absorb the heat from the lamp.
