Arrrggg ! This has to be the scurge of the earth, how in god's name does it continue to thrive?
I find it so repugnant to hear that 200 or 300 million people are still in bondage on this here earth of ours.

Bloodhound, you must realise that Slavery is both economic and physical.
Take a look at this page and then you might see just how dumb your answer is.

At least 10,000 of those people are slaves in the United States; 46% of whom are forced into prostitution and sex services.

I have yet to understand this myself, we are all slaves to our society. We incure so much debt that we are forced to have to work long, difficult hours to pay it off. That to me is slavery but the price of having the things we need. My husband and I consider ourselves lucky, we have insurance and a place to live. We only have one credit card, and a bank card that's it we have a car and motorcycle debt that we are working on paying off. We also have school debt from college so we have our fair share of debt but are probably one of the few people that have one credit card we are in the process of paying off, hopefull within the next year. We try not to buy things we don't really need, and eat at home more than we eat out. But as long as people hold money as so valuable and spend what they don't have they will be slaves to the rich people. I will probably get a thumbs down for this information but this is just my opinion and experience.

Because arrogant lazy ******* not only are too lazy to do their own work, but also believe they have some superior right to own another person. I feel the same as you do about it. It has to in part be because enslaved people do not have access to information like we do or they would make up their minds to revolt. And they would probably be successful.

i don't know about your count but the world isn't perfect and talking about it isn't going to make much of a difference either. be happy that your not a slave or are you. and i look at it this way that sucks but people need to focus on thing closer to home. how can we help other people if we can't even get our own stuff in order? and who comes first are country or theirs? it may sound bad but you aren't going to help your neighbor before you help your family in your house are you? secondly not every other country functions like ours. as long as their is a want for slaves their will always be slaves and alls we can do is try to stop it. but before we do stuff like that i think we need to have our own country in order before we even think we can fix the other ones.

I find it truely amazing how primitive the human race is. I think we could be so much more. Couldn't we all just get along? LOL! (LOVE that quote from Jack Nicholson in Mars Attacks!).

Because they let it happen and refuse to stand up for themselves. Stand up against tyranny and people will soon find out that no one will fear that person or persons. Bow to no one. It's very difficult to rule when the opposition gathers and out numbers the leader/s.

It's because there is a demand for it. Supply and demand. Just like sex slaves. As long as their are people out there who feel the need to have slaves, there are going to be slaves. (Cute dog, maltese?)
