You absolutely must eat at an italian restaurant called "Piero's" and get the "Veal Osso Buco". Hands down the best dinner I have had in my life. I don't even really care for veal either.

It is a very classy italian restaurant, look it up in the phone book, it is a short cab ride from the strip. Great for a romantic dinner.

As for shows, I saw "Love" there in January, it was fantastic, though it really helps if you are a Beatles fan (casual fan is sufficient). However my tickets were free, not sure if I would have paid $150 on my own.

Yay, Vegas!!! Stratosphere isn't the worst hotel out there, but it is a little on the dodgy end, room-wise. Don't worry, though, if you party like I do when I'm in Vegas, you won't be sleeping much anyway. The Stratosphere was renovated and re-opened back in the 90's, so it isn't a very old hotle, by Vegas standards. It's in the same league as the Sahara, Excalibur, and Imperial Palace- cheaper, less luxurious, kind of cheesy, but not dirty or gross or anything.

As for dinner shows, I guess it depends on your budget, but one of my favorite shows there is the medieval joust at Excalibur. It's kind of like that Medieval Times restaurant: you sit there and eat cornish game hen and some actually really good soup without utensils because they didn't have forks back in the 15th century, apparently, and you watch some really hot knights joust each other. It's fun and not terribly expensive- $69 buys you dinner and the show- not too bad for Vegas.

If you have more money, you should check out the new LOVE show by Cirque du Soleil. They have teamed up with George Martin, the Beatles' producer, and re-worked a bunch of classic Beatles songs that the Cirque du Soleil people do their weird little Canadian gymnastics to. Good stuff, but it's like $150 for the cheap seats, and I don't think dinner comes with that.

If I were you, I'd go see Tom Jones. According to my Vegas trip planner website, he's in town at MGM Grand while you're there. He's classic Vegas!!! Have fun!

The revolving restaurant on the top is ok but $$$$$! You absolutely have to ride the rides at the top. Way cool at night! Go to the other hotels for food. Emril Lagase has a couple great places there.

Emeril's at MGM is very nice as suggested and you can catch the show "KA" afterwards... Truly worth the ticket price. (Cirque du Soleil - but with a storyline that is easier to follow then there other presentations). But dinner and show combined sorry can't help.
