The colour makes NO DIFFERENCE to memory requirments
If you plan for online viewing, decide what SIZE you want people to view at, for example 320x200 is common for short clips, of 640x480 for higher quality. But the larger the size the larger the files too.
The size is also affected by file type. MPG is common for "clips in a website" but DivX AVI gives smaller files, againt the quality and size are mutually exclusive, if you want it small, compromise on quality.

It might appear that all colors use the same amount of memory. But actually this assumption is wrong. As colors near the black end of the viewing gamut, our brain starts to see little differences between the shades of black. Most video codecs know about this and discards information at that range of the spectrum to save space.

You may notice this on movies donwloaded from the internet that shows blocky texture
scroll down to the bottom of the page to see the differance in X264 encoding.

Thus the more black you have, the more data discarded, the more efficient the compression.

Also if you slightly blur your video overall, you can achieve better compression, this is because blurring removes sharp areas that need more data to encode.

Achieving the ultimate compression ratio is not going to make you content, style and color harmony any better. Color is a complex science that is intertwined with human emotion.

The colors you pick make no difference. Though with j-peg and Giff files horizontal lines will take up less space than vertical lines when the file is compressed. EG "______________" takes up less space than " !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!". rix

white is better for viewing online, but memory-wise, they all use the same amount of memory.
