If this is your first baby I'd bet that you'll go until or even passed your due date. When I was pregnant I just knew I'd deliver early. While part of it was probably just being sick of being pregnant and wanting to get the show on the road, I was also dilating and having small contractions. Much to my surprise my baby came 10 days passed his due date. But be glad for those pre-labor contractions! My midwife informed me that they are not "false" contractions and that they are in fact doing something. And the more your body does now to prepare for labor the easier your labor will be when the time comes. I had pre-labor contractions for weeks before I actually went into labor and by the time my baby came I had him in less then 9 hours start to finish and only had to push for 15 minutes and did it completely drug free. So while I doubt your little one will make an early appearance with these annoying contractions, remember that the more you have now the less you will have when the time comes. And who knows, he may decide to come early! Make sure you are prepared to handle it if he does and have everything ready to go as if he'd come tonight because you never know what he'll decide to do. Good luck!

that cna go on for weeks, You may not make it to 40 weeks, but you will likely go full term. Keep and eye on it, a baby born at 35 weeks may need to spend a few weks in the NICU, which SUCKS!!!

Could still be a while but you never know. Infrequent contractions are normal, as long as they don't become patterned or close then 5 minutes appart.
