have to interfere. This is my first child and the doctor's I go to keep changing doctors. At my visit prior to this one the doctor felt the baby and did not voice any concern about the baby's weight. Will I have to deliver my child through a c-section or should I not even be worried until I find out what the ultrasound says. Oh and I haven't even dropped yet.

many, if not most women can deliver a 9 lb or larger baby. Don't let them force you into a c-section or an induction. If you let labor occur naturally you have a better chance of having a vaginal delivery. If at 41 + weeks you have not delivered, ask the dr to strip your membranes to get things going. Good luck!!!

Every baby is different, every body is different. I have a very petite friend that delivered a 9lb 2oz baby no problem but I have others that had trouble with an 8lb baby. My last brother was 10lbs at birth, my mom tried to push him out but he wasn't coming so they moved her in for a c-section. It was no big deal. I wouldn't worry too much about it yet, talk with your doctor about your options and weight the risks and benefits if it does turn out to be a big baby. At 39wks they may just decide to induce before the baby has a chance to get any bigger.

If your baby is too big it may be harder for you to deliver vaginally so they need to check to see around how big your baby is to determine if they need to let you go naturally or try to intervein with a c-section
They thought my daughter was around 9lbs at 38wks and the ultrasound showed she was only 7lbs...but she was born 6 days later at 8lbs 4oz so its not always accurate.

My doctor told me at 34 weeks that they thought my son was gonna be pretty big,but when they did the ultrasound he was at normal weight..turns out I just carried big..They still didn't want me to go over and wanted to induce me..I went to natural ways to go into labor..ie.Nipple stimulation, intercourse, and taking black cohosh and evening primrose.
I had a healthy 7lb7oz baby boy on my own at full term..went into labor on my due date.
Good luck

My first was 8 pds 2 oz and I didn't drop either. She was also kicking me and getting stuck between contractions on the way to the hospital. I myself weighed 8 pds 5 oz. I wouldn't worry too much.
