I have had my period for nearly three weeks. It comes and goes, and is heaviest just after having a bowel movement. It was a few months late, which is fairly normal for me- I've always been irregular. But I've never had one this long. I haven't had cramping or pain, just continued menstruation. Should I be seeing a doctor about this, or should I wait until it resolves itself?

This is a sign of a problem- you need to see a doctor now. Periods are about 28 days apart & each period lasts about 5-7 days- not 3 weeks, you could be hemorrging- this can be a sigh of plenty of things such as from miscarriage- to serious illnesses. Usualy when a normal female bleeds for that long or longer is right after they had a baby- now that's normal because its not even called a real period anyways but its expected. But for a female that have inregularities with the menstrual cycle should consult their PD- Primary Doctor or OB GYN doctor, they can put you on birth control to fix your cycle & try to get it nomal- or if that doesn't work they'll prescibe you something else. I hope this helps, & you have no serious condition. Good luck!

I would be calling the doctor for any period over ten days long.

U need to see your doctor. With it continuing like this, there could be something more wrong than just your normal cycle. Please go see your doctor.
