Well, I get my work done quickly also, and spend a lot of time on places like this, waiting for more work to come my way.
I think it's partly a motivation issue (what do you get from working harder, except more stress? probably not a quicker promotion), and partly an ability issue (I don't think that others could go your pace... your managers give you work that their experience has shown them to be enough work for one person).
You could ask for more work and see if that helps, and it might even help you climb the ladder quicker -- but in my own job I just do the work I'm assigned and figure that it's good enough until I decide I really want to start being aggressive with my career.

If you really need soemthing to do and you are feeling guilty about it, why not ask some of the other employees if they need help? I'm sure that they will be grateful if you lightened the load a little for them. Not only will you have a happier workplace, but people will be a lot less stressed and even a bit more productive. Good luck!

it's weird, isn't it? at school, the same thing would happen to me. I would just ask for more work...that is, until i realized that they didn't care that I just sat there doing nothing. All the uppers care for is that you complete the work given to you in a timely manner without complaint. seems as though you have. good for you. if you really feel bad, go ask what else you can do. They may get annoyed with you veentually and send you home early, commending your speedy abilities.

I'm salaried too, kind of. I usually rush to get my work done so I can have the extra time off. I don't feel guilty about it becuase I am doing everything that needs to get done and I'm doing it well.

you shouldn't feel guilty. this is what i do because if i did all my work at once i would just be sitting there, so every now and then take a five - ten minute break just relaxing but still have your work around so they think you are working when you are just doing nothing.

I dont. I love finishing up what I know has to be done!! That way I am assured that everything is how it needs to be!! So for 7 hours of my workday I am on here!! But I work really hard for that first hour of the day!!

You have no need to feel guilty. If work is too easy for you and you feel unchallenged, it would be best to find a different job position or change your occupation.

Henry is right. Better to pay more attention to the work that needs to be done rather than do extra work. Quality is better than quantity as long as you don't fall behind.

Don't feel bad. You did what they paid you to do. Read a book, or go outside and fly a kite for awhile, until they give you something else. Or you could just ask for something else to do.
