what do you think is the meaning of life?

80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.
I've come to two conclusions recently:
1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.
First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.
Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.
So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.
To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

I don't think there is a meaning to life...life is a different experience to everyone, and the meaning of it all depends on that person's living situations, socio-economic status, where they live, the culture they grew up with, their religion, their values, etc. There can't be one meaning for all.
I have no idea what life means to me, but I suppose I've still got time to figure it all out, since I'm only 16.

Seriously though, I've contemplated existence and why I need to be here on earth millions of times. I've only come to one conclusion. To experience the dichotomies of life.
To live within a system of chaos and balance, joy and pain, happiness and depression, anger and sympathy...for the sheer purpose of experiencing the many senses and thoughts associated with life; leading to your enivitable demise with nothing left but a story to tell.

You are not going to like my answer! I am old enough to know the truth, and dumb enough to have missed it the first couple times it came around. Its not money women fame or any other bone head answer. It can be summed up in one word "OTHERS". Spend your life in the pursute of making others happy and you will save your own.

There is no meaning to life. Life is just a experience for the soul as is all the experiences the soul is having at the same time in other parallel universe

u are born, u live and then u die..that is life, u should enjoy every moment of it, many ppl die just bcuz they think ther life is over well itz not. u hav to live until the very end cuz when itz over itz over and u cant do anythin..all u will do is regret it...i believe in heaven but i learned dat heaven is just gettin to b luved by god and b close to him. that means that u dont liv anymore...god gave u life so u can enjoy it to da fullest. so when sumthin goes wrong in ur life just remember to KEEP LIVING. enjoy it to da fullest cuz u never kno when it will end. u hav all the time u want, u just hav to giv everythin a try and dont stop when sumthin getz in ur way..

life is what you make of it,but i will give you examples:
it is the best opportunity you get yo make god satisfied from you action so you do what god wants
it is the time where you work hard and hard to collect money and in the end spend it to feel the pleasures of life
it is the time where you let others control you and you always feel sick of it
in the end it is what you decide it is
