Well it depends on what model it is, RS, Z28, or SS. A friend of mine just sold a 2000 SS with 120,000 miles for $6,500, so I'd say that's a bit high even if it's an SS, way high if it's a Z28, and ridiculous if it's a V6.

I previous Dodges, Gm products, etc. i bought a sparkling 2008 stay sparkling of Avenger first new vehicle at 50. Worst vehicle I ever owned. I even have owned 2nd had Dodges from the 80's and early. by no capacity had any problems. The 2008 caught hearth two times, The steerage rack went interior 2 years, etc. i bought a 2002 Mustang with ninety two,000 miles and NO problems like the the Avenger. i does not even purchase a sparkling vehicle from ANY maker. Their all plastic and we are the guinea pigs. My Mustang has steel factors. The Avenger had a plastic thermostat housing that stored leaking even after being replaced with a sparkling one. i'm no longer an entire Ford fan, I only needed a vehicle with some steel and made variety of like the previous automobiles. the 2nd era Avenger 4 bangers have a bad transmission. while you're thinking of including mods you are able to't. The tranny will by no capacity final. I even have talked to many people who artwork as stay sparkling of broker mechanics. that's a funds pit.

You should look at www.kbb.com and walk through the process. It will tell the blue book of what the car is worth. I would buy it if theres absolutely nothing wrong with it. the seller could be trying to get money for extras like parts he put into it. when you do a brake job on a car you dont add that to the price for example. so make sure you know what its worth and then negotiate. kbb.com will even do a virtual walk around and define the value even more.

I have a 94 v6 5spd with 235,000 on it. It has never broke down or really given me any fits. I am not the easiest driver either. Drive train issues... (drive shaft bearing, rear end bearing) have been the only real problems for me. clutch replaced at 91,000. I did the shocks (4) at 125,000. Other than that, everything else has been preventative maintenance or usual stuff (brakes, battery,filters,etc...)
BTW: www.kbb.com is a site paid for by car companies... of course they are going to fudge the prices a bit.

Depends on the engine. V6 (RS) noway. V8 (Z28) get them to drop the price. But 300 a month on a $8100 loan, the interest rate is through the roof! Smells fishy if you ask me.

It depends if your friend knows it had a good owner that loved it and you want to keep it for quite a while it is worth paying extra for a good car. You get what you pay for and with cars cheap is not normally a bargain.
