FDR was the right man at the right time. If he was president today, he would be hated worst than Bush is hated by the far left and its spokesperson, the lib media. FDR would be rounding up and putting all Muslims, US citizens or no, in concentration camps, and would be putting a gag order on the lib media. No more daily body counts, no more editorials calling for his impeachment, do an anti-FDR message or blog on the internet and the FBI would be knocking your door the next day. FDR would enact the draft for sure. But in the end FDR would get the job done but some would not like how he got there.

People who love the Socialist programs enacted under his Administration might think that. Also people with no respect for the Constitution (as bad as some of the things FDR did were, the things he /didn't/ get away with were downright chilling - 'stacking' the Supreme Court, for instance).

Actually I think William Henry Harrison was. He couldn' t do much good or harm in a month. FDR on the other hand has a mixed record, to long to detail here.

No.
His actions have been seen as prolonging the depression and frankly the argument is sound.
He was good at PR. I'll give him that.

At the time, he was the best... but we're still paying for his programs. So, in the grand scheme, not the best ever...
