I can't read notes, but I've played the harmonica before, so I can recognize the do-re-mis and play a one-key-at-a-time song using that base easily.

It depends on how much time you put in, but with some past experience it should come quickly for you.

Thats a very difficult question to answer. I have been teaching music for over 35 years.... and I still can't answer that question !! Let me explain, as best as I can. Here goes...

Firstly, music is an Art. And Art, from my viewpoint, simply cannot be taught ! Yes. Art is something that is a gift from the Almighty and every individual has some form of Art within him/her. Some may paint, some draw, some sing, some play instruments, some are math wizards, some are born leaders....all these are varied forms of Art.

Even if you are gifted with a sense of music, then again it varies from person to person. Each individual has varying degrees of an understanding of music. Somethings can be learnt...others simply cannot ! For example, I can teach you to recognise a note, since you can see the note on the keyboard or the guitar. When I tell you, this position will produce the note of say, 'C', it will do so. But how do I teach you the basics of rhythm ? How do I define the interval between two beats ? How do I define the silence between the beats ? A person gifted with a sense of music will simply 'know' the gap/timing. A person not gifted, just cannot make it out.

That is exactly why we have very famous and popular singers, and also famous and popular singers and also popular singers and also just singers and also the non singers. That is exactly why, one singer makes it to the top very easily, while the other one takes years and years just to be acknowledged.

So, one cannot say whether you will be able to play the piano in one month or year or 10 years. And age is no bar. We have had child prodigies as well as people past their prime, who have made it to the top.

It all depends on how gifted you are, how much patience and perseverence you have and how dedicated you are.

All the very best.

i think it totally depends on how serious you are about learning the piano... if you practice an hour a day then you will learn really good in just a couple of years & if you practice a half hour every day it still is pretty fast but if you dont practice then it will take you so long that i wouldnt recomend it also a good teacher will help you learn faster but remember that you will never stop learning so there are some things that your teacher wont even know

If you tie yourself so your hands can reach the keyboard but
not escape piano while wearing HALO equipment the learn
process from thirty thousand feet over mid-ocean is about
six minutes depending upon the terminal speed acquired by
the descending particulars. Sheet music is best backed by
adhesive and fixed to piano where one can focus on notes.
One-key-at-a-time should get you through the entire process
but beware final discord.
