My husband was in the labor and delivery room with me. He got to see the whole "shabang". Quite nasty if you ask me, it's not like I really wanted him to see that certain parts of me could stretch that far. He also got to cut the umbilical cord. He watched "everything" from the time I got into the bed until I got to get up and take a bath afterwards. I was allowed 2 people in the room with me. I chose my husband and my sister, she was a fantastic help with holding my legs for me while I pushed. This kept my husband up at my face so he could help with the breathing and pushing.

Yes husbands are allowed in the delivery room during labor and delivery... My husband was by my side the whole time, and when the baby was born was suppose to cut the cord but because she came so fast, and wasnt looking to active the doctor cut the cord and rushed her to the nurses.. But she was nice enough to leave enough of the cord he was able to cut the remaining piece off.. I am now almost 32 weeks with #2 and he is going to be in the room with me this time as well, and hopefully gets to actually cut the cord..

We have 4 kids, all born vaginally with no drugs. My husband was right there with me throughout the entire labor, delivery, and stayed with me in the hospital after the births. Our oldest daughter and her husband have a 4 month old son. My son-in-law stayed with my daughter throughout her labor even when it stalled and she still hadn't delivered 24 hours after her water broke. They had to do a c-section and my son-in-law stayed by my daughter's side throughout the whole surgery, only leaving her briefly while they were stitching her so he could come and tell the family in the waiting room that the baby had arrived and they were both doing OK. Many husbands stay with their wives and if they don't you can have another support person to stay with you.

Oh yes, he was there. You don't think I was going to let him get out of THAT, do ya? :-)
Yes, hubbies are allowed into the delivery room these days. In fact, with my last daughter, my husband, mom, and best friend were all in the room. It was like a party! lol. My hubby was quite helpful and considerate during my labors. I don't know what I'd have done without him.

Yes they can be there. Times have changed. I was surprised to learn that when my husband and his brother were born (1972 and 1975 respectively) their father was not allowed in the delivery room. Even more unbelievable is that he dropped my MIL off at the hospital and went to work!
My husband was there with me the whole time.

Funny story -- my brother's wife just had a c-section today. (Yeah - healthy baby girl). They had put up a little drape so my brtoerh and sister in law could not really see what was happening (I guess c-sections are not too easy to watch). Well, when the baby came out she didnt cry so my sister-in-law was scared and told my brother to look. Just as he looked, the baby cried so she knew the baby was ok. But too late, my brother got a glipse of the c-section, turned ghost white, and fainted. Besdies the nurse, holding the baby, all the medical staff had to tend to my brother.
So, yes, IF YOU WANT THEM THERE, your husband can be in the room.

Husbands are allowed in delivery room for natural birth and C-Section while the mother is awake only. For operation (C-Section) with mother completely out, no. My husband was not allowed in room. I wanted him with me, but for safety and infection reducing sake, it wasn't allowed.

My 2d grow to be far worse than my first. With my 2d each and every thing went too quickly and that i hyperventilated and vomitted. i could no longer administration my respiratory in any respect b/c the contractions have been so intense and so close at the same time . I went from 1cm to 3cm in an hour... 3cm to eight cm in half-hour and at 10 until ultimately 12 they reported i grow to be 8 cm , 80% efaced and the toddler hadn't dropped yet unexpectedly 10 minutes later he grow to be crowning. It grow to be relatively undesirable. He grow to be 6 weeks early and purely weighed 5 pounds. I purely had to push for sort of 10 minutes and the toughest section there grow to be waiting for them to get waiting for the delivery and get the wellness care expert yet each and every thing maximum appropriate as much as that grow to be hell.

Oh yes, it's definitely allowed. Hospitals have their own regulations about how many people may be in the room, but I'm sure that all of them let at least one other person be in there with the mother.

You can pretty much have whoever you want in there, as long as there are no complications with the labor and delivery. I had my bf (the father) and my mom, and to be honest my mom was more of a comfort than my bf! Besides, he had to leave a couple of times, while my mom was right by my side the whole time.
