This is kind of the opposite of what most people think:
I understand why guys like other guys, but I have no idea why one women would want to be with another women like that. What can they possible offer (other than friendship) that a man can't?

Women offer me everything a man cannot. Companionship, friendship, a sense of TRUST and stability, genuine love, romance, tenderness, sincerity, mysteriousness, GREAT sex, and we just connect on all levels.

I can think of TWO really important things a woman can offer another woman that a man can't:
1) A vagina.
2) Breasts.
Yes, lesbians like women for a lot more reasons than just those two, but if you don't have those, good luck. Do you understand? Lesbians like women's bodies- and no man can offer them that.

will they are lesbian just because its who they are. A women can offer the same as a man can except there body is different and the sex is different. Women tend to be better listeners,and they understand a women better.If ur a straight female though, a women can't offer u anything that u wants cause the attraction isn't there.

I'm a straight male who has befriended a number of lesbians. - Each one of them has experienced a traumatic event or some type of abuse from a man in their youth.
I challenge ALL the women who have answered this question to deny this.
While I pass no judgment on a person for deciding to become homosexual, I sincerely believe it is never a case of genetic predisposition, but a choice.
So my answer to your question is: lesbians offer each other comfort and safe companionship.
Nature made the penis and vagina to compliment each other and in fact they really do, if you want them too!

Women don't "become" lesbians, they're born that way. Also, a woman offers me everything a man cannot on an emotional, mental and physical level. I'm sorry you don't understand it, but maybe if you were ever with a woman and actually felt the softness of their skin, the curves of their bodies, and the way they touch you, you would understand.

You're generalizing your own experience onto others. Lesbians _are_ attracted to women "like that," and aren't attracted to men. So, they aren't interested in what a man can "offer," because they don't want it in the first place.

I never "became" a lesbian, I just always was one. I really don't understand why anyone would want to be with a man like that.... i mean what can a man offer that a woman can't?
You need to look at this from a lesbians' point of view to understand it.

Lesbian means. women like another women. Same thing with Men, they like another men. But not friendship. It's called "Lover" in their relationship.

umm...my wife offers more than friendship, actually friendship is all a man can offer me. But I didn't one day, become a lesbian, I've been one all my life.
