My PC has two System softwares. while starting the computer it askes me to select one of windows XPs. I can start the computer by selecting what I want but I don't like that and I want to format one of them whichis in partition C and I got worried that it may farmat all the contents. so what can I do to format only one partition and stay with only the other one?

While you are running XP in the other partition (D?), right click My Computer, select Manage. On the Computer Management Window, select Disk Management. You will see the partitions on the right side of the screen. Right click on drive C and select format.
