Interesting question, that I have asked several times. One of my friends, looks and sounds like a hillbilly. Long curly hair, bushy beard, about 100 pounds over weight, always wears overalls or coveralls. And, he is a tenured professor of chemistry. John Kerry had a northern accent, sounded like an elitist. Dubwa, pure Texas accent, just a good ol' boy. Bush is put up as stupid, and Kerry smart, even though Bush's GPA was higher then Kerry's.

Well, I'm from Texas. Graduated as valedictorian with a degree in engineering. I own my own company. I have a southern accent. Does that qualify me as having a low IQ? Anyone that thinks so is free to e-mail me and tell me why.

I know it sounds really stupid, but it depends on the type of southern accent. I have a friend that she has a thick accent but she is intelligent. Now if they have southern accent and are like git er done (or however you spell it), then yeah I am thinking please sound intelligent. So yeah sometimes I do, southern doesn't always mean stupid. It is the hick southern that do.

Nope
I hear what they have to say first before I subtract IQ points.
The fastest way to lose IQ points with me is starting off with being a bigot.

No, an accent doesn't do it for me. Just the words coming out of their mouth - and I don't mean just southerners, that's all people, no matter where they hail from.
