my catering business will provide home cooked food for every type of event, from in home parties to weddings and graduations. I don't want to use my personal name and am looking for suggestions that are catchy but professional.

When choosing a name for your business, you should also consider your advertising venue. Will you be using a phone listing like the Yellow Pages? If so, you'll probably want something that will ensure you first listing like "A Home Cooked Feast Catering."
My wife and I have a dog grooming business. We chose "A Dog's Day Pet Salon" for that very reason. It's amazing how many calls we get because we're first in the book. Think strategy. It's not only going to be your name that you base a reputation on, but it will also be your first line of paid advertising. And lets face it, in some businesses, it's almost exclusively about location (like mine), but in others, it's all in a name and word of mouth. Choose wisely and best of luck to you!
