I have to wonder how many officials in the NFL are doing the same thing. Especially after the way the league reacted 2 seasons ago when the Palamalu Interception of Manning was overturned by an official who was clearly trying to change the outcome of the game (cheating).

The league did not announce an investigation, or do anything to send a message that cheating would not be tolerated.

In fact they sent the message that officials can go ahead and cheat without fear because the league doesn't want the embarrassment of an investigation.

Several. How many? No one knows! It's just a fact that holding can be called on any given play and some refs like to call it at the worst times. The Superbowl a couple years ago between the Steelers and Seahawks had so many questionable calls all against the Seahawks at the most inopportune time. A simply penalty can save, or destroy any drive. In the old days when players weren't making that much the gamblers were able to get to the players. Thats a fact. This day the players make so much money and it would be hard to imagine with all money being poured in by the gamblers that they wouldn't try else where. i.e. The refs would be a perfect target. Enough money can influence anyone to do anything.

Um, probably 0. If told your job is on the line if you ever drank diet Pepsi, would you do it? Gamble, you get fired. Period.

Manipulating the spread is not as easy in the NFL or MLB and would be caught be the league.

Most calls in the NBA are judgment anyway. (Don't believe me, ask which calls Donaghy made to fix the spread.)

None. The NFL runs really thorough background test on all of their officials. Plus, with the moves we've seen Godell make already, he'd immediately fire one if he found that the were betting.
