My question is, should the US military stay in Iraq? Why should or shouldn't they stay there? What are the consequences of withdrawing? How many Iraqis, and how many US troops are already dead? Thanks for answering these questions!

Also, could you define, in your opinion, but realistically, what a win in Iraq is?

bob k, I am not a liberal, I am not even old enough to vote yet. I am all for staying, and removing the influence of Al Qaeda In Iraq permanently, securing the Iraqi country, and making sure the Shiites do, however, dominate most of the government because of their big majority in population. I don't believe Iraq, at this time in history, is ready for a democracy quite yet. Although, the US and the rest of the region and the world, will have to take steps to make sure that the Sunnis and Kurds aren't being mistreated.

Unfortunately we can’t leave until Iraq is strong enough to resist terrorist thugs from turning it into another Afghanistan. It sucks.
A win in Iraq is leaving Iraq strong enough to ward off any threats of terrorists using Iraqs oil to finance their murdering ways.

If we just up and leave it will be like handing the country over to radical Islam. It will also mean the death of many many women , children and other innocents. We never should of went but now we must finish the job. The only way to do this is take off the kid gloves and kick some but. In war you just can't be restrained and win. Our enemies follow no rules whatsoever. How can we beat them if we are so worried about world opinion of our actions. A win would be if a democratically elected government is in place that can hold power and stop the outsiders(who are causing all the problems). Leaving things unfinished is the cruelest thing we could do for all the innocents there . I don't see how you can call yourself a caring liberal and just abandoned these poor people. No compassion in that only cowardice. We caused the situation and we have to take responsibility.

I think so. The people over there are killing eachother in droves WITH our occupation so what are we really doing. They are in a civil war and we should not be involved. We don't even have proper gear anyways. What's up with that.
